Thanks! The Spatulata is definitely a unique one for sure, and has been fun watching it's color morph

Yesterday I got my replacement ATB Flowstar. Another company I can endorse with outstanding customer service. I bought a used pump from a local, and the motor was bad. Emailed Victor and tried a couple of things without improvement, and he sent me a new replacement. Also added a Vertex Media Reactor, which is way more than what I would normally buy. I've owned 3LF, BRS, as well as a Nextreef. All of them had issues, and I would have to run them in sump. The vertex has a screw top lid. It's super easy to change out media. It's a tank, being made of Cell cast acrylic and Sch. 80 PVC. It's well worth the investment.

Now that this calcium reactor has been run for a few months, I have to say, I really like it because it is super potent for such a compact unit. The media is a very small amount compared to the other reactors I've used. It returns the effluent back to the tank at a ph over 7.0. The compact size makes media changes more often then others. It does have the easiest tops to remove that I have used. And it's a little complicated to get going, needing certain accessories other reactors don't need.

It's size and the mounting board it's on, make it nice to squeeze into a spot next to my sump.

heres the coral I initially dipped in Bayer insecticides and found AEFW. I dipped three more times, and never found another, so I mounted it in the display

I also am trying a 250W Radium using a bluewave 7 M80 ballast. This gives the bulb a real crisp white color with a hint of blue.

Thanks! I wanted to see if I could tell the difference between my tank lit with in succession Radium and XM 20K, Radium, Radium rear Reefbrite, Radium w 2RB, Radium,XM20K,2RB

    XM20K and Radium
    [IMG]
    Just Radium 250W

    Radium w 2xRB
    [IMG]
All bulbs fired +2x24" Reefbrite blue I think I am going to go get another 250W Radium and see what it looks like.

Unlike most pendants where you have a dual bulb fixture with the bulbs spaced apart, my fixture has a very large reflector and the bulbs sit front and back, with a ridge of aluminum that helps blend the lights together. They call it an Exaggerate Pendant.

Gawd I love your tank. Next time I'm up in the Bay area visiting relatives I might have to invite myself over... both you and Rocketman ;D
