Somehow I missed your post... dang, sorry to hear. I can't imagine how pee'd off you must be.

Soooo... where'd you bury the body, or is it on the bottom of the bay?

LOL, yeah I am really pissed off, but in truth, I should have been prepared to take off at any moment. Now I will set the tank up, so I can leave without worry. One of the reasons I have wrasses and a tang in my tank, is if I have to leave, those fish can live on what's in the tank, without having to feed them daily. It was a last minute trip, so my CO2 tank was in need of a change. I bought a larger bottle, and had him install it. I really don't know why he decided to veer off my instructions.

My reaction, is to let my local club know that he isn't the man to call if you are sps dominated.

Well, at any rate, I'm really looking forward to see how you recover. Keep us in the loop, it will be a good reference if/when any of our tanks head south...

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Yes I missed the post as well. They're not even my corals and I am disappointed. You had some beauties.

You do a great job of bouncing back though.

omg that sucks. like 10 years ago my dad and i had an established lps reef with tons of everything including 15 year old fish, corals, and clams... huge stuff just grown into a 180g with 2x175w MHs. One morning we went into work and the tank looked like milk, somehow a pump burned out or the heater went bad and the water was sitting at 95 degrees. almost everything died... surprisingly (sarcasm) the zoanthids lived lol but i had never seen my dad cry until that morning. he gave the tank to me and i converted it into an sps system and it ended up more awesome than before. it sucks having everything die though.

    very sad reading BMTowned

I think it would be wise to let others know about your experience
as it may prevent similar occuring elsewhere
its a shame that the lesson had to be learned the hard way like this

on the positive side, at least the situation looks to be recoverable, with what appears to be the majority of corals still looking OK, albeit a change of colour or colour fade

hopefully it will return to former glory very soon for you

^^^^I think that was an old post, I remember getting a little flack over having the PVC bottom. But from what I can see, they are excellent, and I have not had any problem using the untempered starphire, or the PVC bottom. My overflow is acrylic, and that has held up solid as well. The company actually makes a lot of commercial tanks using the process, it's been well tested.

Thanks everyone, I have already informed my favorite online retail store, that I need a special pack. And I have already ordered a replacement for the Aussie Enchinata...The worst part is the algae I have all of a sudden, I hate to think the guy used a whole container of flake food that was sitting next to the tank. I think he may, since it is no where to be found.
