I just have to ask where you found this guy? Is he an LFS employee or something? Dumping whole containers of food, failing on a CO2 tank change, fiddling with your system even though you OBVIOUSLY know what you're doing by the looks of your tank.... it just seems this guy had no knowledge of how to operate/maintain a reef... I'm getting more PO'd right now thinking about it, especially since I enjoy your new posts with pics... ;)

Again, so sorry for the mess.

The guy was referred by a LFS, he services tanks all over. Guess he mostly deals with mixed tanks. The thing is, I told him not to adjust a thing, to remove the regulator and replace the tank. Open up the tank's valve, and it would be fine. I really don't understand why he adjusted the needle valve. On my reactor, it's run differently than most, the regulator and needle valve are opened up all the way, and there is a separate sensor that shuts off the CO2 as it runs through the box.

What I am going to do is automate my tank, and have spare CO2 if I ever have to run out of town. Then I will let the tank run on it's own, and probably have much better results.

So a month ago, I was out of town for over a month, and in that time I hired a professional maintenance company to care for my tank. I needed the guy to swap out my CO2 tank for a full one, and even paid extra to buy a larger tank. I instructed the guy to remove the regulator and not adjust a thing. Also told him to not even worry about bubble count, since my Reactor runs differently than other Calcium Reactors. Well after 1 1/2 months, I came home to super low alk. The reason was the guy decided to turn down the regulator, and it wasn't getting enough CO2 to the reactor. He basically shut off the needle valve. Anyway, here are some of my recovering coral.

I have like 3 big frag packs waiting to be shipped. I just want to clear out any algae I have, and make sure I have all my corals either close to or fully recovered.

Every time you get things back to normal something else happens. I hope you didn't pay him.

Did the guy ever explain why he messed with your system or didn't follow your directions? Seems less than professional to me. I'm sorry, your tank looked amazing and I'm sure it will be better than it was before long.
