They are know to be called Scooter blennies, but they are not from the blenny family, but are actually a dragonett. +1 on them eating pods, and needing a constant supply.

It was my first fish. I also feed him brine shrimp soaked in garlic extreme, then I got him to eat blood worms. It was harder to get him to eat mysis shrimp shrimp, but seeing the other fish eat them helped. Now he is fat and happy, he also has pods. If you can get him to eat other foods he will be fine, if not he will starve.

You got LUCKY that you got one that will eat mysis. They rarely do. I want one SO bad and I have a constant supply of pods but my tank is too little to support one over a long period of time.

You can have pods in a 3 month old tank (I do) but you have to seed them (I did). Get some chaeto that is seeded with pods and throw it in your refugium.

I am sooo pleased that yours is eating mysis. Mine has been with me for 5 1/2 months, but I have been careful to not buy any other fish that is a real big pod eater. It has limited the kind of fish I could buy. I also am trying to grow pods in a separate tank and switch little pieces of LR out with the main tank so that he has new pods source every few weeks. I guess I should make a pod pile in the main tank. But to eating ,he seems to take to new food every so often and is doing well--but is a lot of work.

Really cute fish--I believe you have a Lawnmower blenny, it is not a Scooter blenny. They do not eat algae, but the lawnmower does.

That's a lawnmower blenny and my favorite addition to the tank. My 2 year old calls him "My Benny!" so I wouldn't call him MY fish, he's been taken by the baby!
