That looks awesome. How long did it take to get 3 coats on. That is exactly what I want to do my 40 gallon breeder before I set it up.

I waited about 4 hours between each coat. No, it doesn't matter, just make sure you tape where the hole is so no paint gets inside the tank :)

Okay, A few updates here. Well after seeing pipefish in person, I decided to take them out of my stocking. They are very cool animals but if I ever kept them, it would be in a species tank. Also, I picked up a nice big toadstool leather for $45 which is currently in my 60g (I am hoping my perculas will host it ;)) And lastly I picked up some eggcrate to put on the bottom of the tank, I also got some screen frame and spline to make my own top (since my tank is open top). So far I only made the frame but will be getting mesh from BRS soon.

The toadstool(sorry for quality, took with my phone...the astraea behind it is a good size reference)

Well, truth is. I haven't got my stand yet. Once I get it, I will mount the light. I can show you a picture of what I am planning though if you want :)

Okay, well what I am going to do is. I bought a 15in L bracket from lowes here and painted it black. I am mounting it into a stud in my wall and hanging the light from all 4 wires like this [IMG] The reason I chose 15in is because my tank will be 3.5in off the wall and the light fixture is 8in wide. So if I want the light to hang in the middle of the 18in wide tank, I needed a 15in L bracket.

I was think of doing the same thing actually. I've been kicking the idea of building a canopy to match my stand or hanging the light from the ceiling and building a small enclosure that matches my stand for the light. Sort of like a light that hangs over a pool table idea....

Edit something like this, but matching my stand
