Once again came home with new additions today. I always tell myself I am not going to bring anything home and when I do decide on one thing and tell myself thats it I have a hard time resisting the frag bin. Kind of addictive I better upgrade soon or I will run out of room

Found a neon green wall hammer shaped like a giant lucky horseshoe for $68! Then I had to dig in the frag bin and found a pink birdsnest, dark purple monti of some sort, and zoa frag for $5 each. Pictures to follow

I do have a question on acclimating and placement. The hammer is much to large for my normal drip acclimation bucket so I have to use a 5 gal pale. How sensitive are these guys because I do not want to drain more than a gallon of tank water. Also I was thinking of placing my wall frogspawn in the middle of the wall hammer, shouldnt have any issues I assume?

Also can I place the birdsnest close to my stylophora or will they eventually get larger and have a mini war once they can touch?

I just float my LPS, swap half the water after 20 mins and then in the tank. Just did that with an 80 dollar torch and it's doing awesome. Just my 2 cents

Right now the different in salinity is about 35 in the DT to 33 LFS after about a 1/2 hr drip

I use a BRS refractometer. One side gives you the SB 1.02... the other the salinity. I usually run around 1.0255 and 35

Well after an hour the water in the bucket was starting to get to cold so I went and added them to the tank. Used gloves for the zoas of course and found a little crack to cram the rock frag into. They have already opened and will hopefully spread nicely since t hey are in a low light area.

I placed the monti frag near the others to hopefully one day have them all grow out to form a neat multicolored formation. The hammer was very difficult to handle and place. The flesh goes pretty far down on the rock and gets all slimy when handled and the large size of the horseshoe makes it impossible to handle without touching some of the flesh. After awhile of fiddling I settled on a temp placement to allow it to fully acclimate for a week or so before finding a spot for it
