So I recently upgraded my lights about two/three weeks ago. I used to have odyssea lights 4x54 and upgraded to an ATI sunpower 6x54 thanks to another 3reef member. There was purple coraline algea growing on my rocks, but it seems to have changed color to green.

    My question:
Is the coraline algea just adapting to the new lights or did GHA take the spot of my purple algea?

Congrats on the massive fixture upgrade, that's like going from 0 to 100, ATI's are the best IMO. The tank is obviously going to have to adjust to the new power of the fixture, the output of ATI's is massive and going from a 4 to a 6 bulb is significant also.

What types of bulbs are you using? I would think it's def algae covering the coraline maybe? What's your Phosphates level at?

Yeah I knew it was going to be quite the upgrade to the aquarium. I saved up for months to get these lights.

Lights, I'm pretty sure they are:
    1 Figi Purple
    2 Blue +
    3 Blue Special

    Phospates:
My last water test was 10/21 and they were .03 Test was done using Salifert and my untrained eye.

you can see beyond the picture the back of my tank which has many spots of purple coraline. I only have that green stuff where my coraline used to be. It is not on any part that wasn't previously covered in purple

Nice bulb choice, you're def getting a ton of power and PAR out of that fixture. I would think the adjustment will def bring you some amount of algae (on glass/etc). Is it def algae & not green coraline? I guess I would keep an eye on it, I want to say it will subside. Are you using RO water?

I use RO/DI water about 90% of the time. Sometimes I run out and have to use tap with aquasafe water conditioner and nitrate reducer for a couple of top offs till I can get to the LFS.

I have no idea if its green coraline or GHA. All i know is my rocks used to be a nice purple color and now they are a not so nice green color.

I know, I just didn't want to start this battle in my tank. I figured that was what it is, just afraid to hear it from someone else.

Looks a little fuzzy to me, too. As in, not coraline.
