After doing much reading on here the last 6 months about refugiums we finally decided to take the dive and replace the wet/dry and bioballs.

Any suggestions are more than welcom on how to improve on it. Before and after pics are posted. Oh yea and while we were at it we replaced the skimmer.

Bare with me i have never posted pics here or used photobucket

Looks good, only one thing that caught my eye was, the Mangroves"s leaves need to be out of the water.

The skimmer works awesome, we did not cut any bracing actually the side that we cut the hole in we even added 2 2x4's and shimmed them in to give additional support to the tank. I wanted to cut a hole in the other side to match but the was quickly vetoed lol.

The fuge has been up and running for about a week now and there is some growth in there for sure but i am not noticing a drop in the nitrates as of yet. We have some Mangroves and cheato in there. the Chesto is growing well. What's the time frame before we will actually notice a drop in the Nitrates?

Well everyone it is a proud day today when I tested for Nitrate, and the first time ever it is a 0 reading. I even ran out and bought 2 new test kits to make damn sure it was accurate. Sure enough it was.

Thanks to everyone for all the advice that read in prior threads to finally upgrade to the fuge.
