I recently got this piece of rock full of life and 3 or 4 different type of corals and I don't know what's happening to this one. I have it on a QT tank and it has been there for three days. Should I just dip some iodine and put it on my DT should I dose something? Please help. It looks like is melting on the white areas.

Looks like it might be Hydnophora but I can not tell honestly.

    Moved to--------Corals.

That's how it looks like. I think that's what I was told it could be.
What's happening to it? Why is it doing that?

I think Hydnophora also. I think that is the form for that species of Hydnophora. It looks to be healthy for the most part.

Hard to tell what the white areas are. Might be mesenterial filaments (feeding filaments).

If you can get a sharper picture we might be able to figure out. Do the areas look like flesh or skeleton?

The coral is hard and those white areas use to be green color. If I put my finger near and move the water a lil them the white fleshy matter retracts. I'll try to take a better picture tomorrow when light come back on

Does not look too bad to me. Check your parameters and list them.

This is a highly aggressive coral so placement is important.

    Relatively easy coral as well.
