I bought this purple tipped anemone from a LFS and now that i've looked into it more it seems there are other anemone's better suited for the reef tank I hope to have someday. It was at the top of my tank when I first got it and kept hiding behind rock so after a few days I moved it to the bottom and now it seems more happy. I just want to know if it's ok to keep or if it should go away when I try to get rid of my damsel. Thanks for any suggestions. BTW I'm really happy to have any new additions, so I still love this anemone for now ;D

It looks like a purple tipped condylactus. Reef safe? It'll sting anything that it can get it's tips on. Which is what any other anemone would do :) Good host anemone for a clown fish? No it is not.
Should you keep it? As long as you know what it can do and are willing to live with the consequences, Why not.
    Enjoy,
