I think why most people use them are, 1-they are pretty inexpensive and 2-they are pretty hardy 3-they school and 4-they are generally peaceful unless the male starts to build nests then he may get cranky.

All of the above, and I am a very big cheap skate too ! LoL

Would love 3 or 4 bannerfish to fill it up a bit.

I just looked at some pyramid butterflies, don't know if the $35 a piece excited me much though..................... So I bought 3 new wrasses instead :)

I love bannerfish! Does anyone have them in their reef? I saw the one post with the minimalist aquascape reef and there were about four in it.....my LFS keeps telling me they nip at polyps .....

Bought a flasher, a clown and a fairy wrasse, to go with my leopard wrasse.

All seem happy enough now, my big old grump clown got a little pissy with the clown wrasse, but she is very over weight and soon gave up the battle, from what I hear the clown wrasse will be able to hold her own soon enough.

Nice! The Clown Wrasse (C. solorensis) should hold its own soon enough. What was the other Fairy Wrasse you picked up (out of curiosity)?

Not the best photo, but the only time she rests for more than a second.

Very nice. There are a few that look similar, but looks like a nice male Yellow Flanked Fairy, Cirrhilabrus ryukyuensis.
