Yup, the tank was clear again this morning. Interesting to see it going through the cycles.

    isn't this website called 3reef.com lol ;)

Welcome Scarecrow, freshwater tanks are THE best way to get into the hobby. They will teach you about proper husbandry as well as generally spark your interest for all things aquarium !!!

I can only reiterate that a heater is a must, and a Bio-wheel or some type of Hang On Back (HOB) filter will go a long way towards the health and stability of this tank.

I have the heater coming and I will try to get a better filter as soon as I can. Here is a quick question however, when would be a good time to add more fish? I would like to a 3 neon tetras next and I was wondering how long I should space the additions.

So a was going to put in a heater today but I decided to put a thermometer in for an hour before I changed the water temp. Now the thermometer is showing 82 degrees... I don't think I need a heater right now, I think the lights are enough.

hey pal !! sorry to break it to you but there are no freshwater fish living in 82 degree water !!!

You need to get that tank into a cooler position

Alright I will see what I can do. For now I will be sparing with the light (The room is fairly bright during the day anyway.) and maybe get some LED lights instead as they tend to be cooler.

So, I now have lower wattage lights, and the tank get up to 80 at the warmest, but usually is around 78-79.

On the other hand when I woke up this morning the guppy was sitting upside down on the bottom of the tank, an hour later it had died and was being attacked by the frog.
