I'm starting a new saltwater aquarium and i have everything (fish, sand, live rock etc.) but Corals.

I did a bit of research and i think softies would be best but there are so many i don't know witch ones would be best for a beginner :-/

    can someone help me out?

    ps: i have a 20 gal tank

Any softy will work. Mushrooms, leather, xenia and anthellia are all stupid easy. Zoa's and ricordia mushrooms are also pretty darn easy!

And Green star polyp is impossible to kill... Any of those would be great starter corals.

Zoa's, mushrooms, ricordea are all easy & cheap ways to get started. Green Star polyps & Xenia like mentioned are also great choices but can grow & spread fast, so be prepared to do some grooming on them.

Zoas, Xenia, or Leather Corals are very hardy corals and are best "softies" to begin with. I began with all three of these corals and they are doing amazing!

I'd recommend the GSP and xenias for the quick morale boost! Like mentioned, they're quick growers, so keep them isolated on their own rocks, if possible.

Zoa's are nice too, not quite as quick of a spreader, but easy none-the-less.

I started out with cheap stuff purchased from other hobbyists. That way if you kill something starting out (I've had a few die), $5 isn't a huge loss.

Xenia are AMAZING for beginers. It is exactly what i started with when i first setup my reef aquarium. If you have any friends in the reef hobby, ask them if they wouldn't mind giving you a small pice from their tank. It will grow pretty fast, and imo looks great!

My tank has been running for about 3 weeks now (its my first saltwater tank). The live rock is cycling right now
