So I just bought two new Astrea Snails. They seemed to be moving well in the bag today on the way home and since they have been in the tank I haven't seen any movement. Are these snails on the shy side? Any advice? Never had snails before.

Either they were acclimated incorrectly, or they won't move while the light is on out of habit.

Assuming you acclimated them correctly they are fine. These are very hardy, yet sensative to sudden swings in parameters - thus acclimating correctly plays a big part.

I suspect as suggested they are waiting for darkness - that or they like where they were placed and are happily munching away in the same spot :) I wouldn't worry, Just let them be.

How did you acclimate them to your tank when they were in the bag?
