It would be easy to replace the breaker, but even if I put a 20amp breaker I'll still have the 15amp at the receptacle itself so the 15amp would trip first. So I'd have to go in and revert the receptacle back to the non-gfci and then install the breaker. While I'm in there I would probably just throw the 20 amp in. OR, if I had gotten my head outta my ass when I originally installed the thing I could have put it in the wide open receptacle 10 feet away that's the first socket in the A-B-C chain on that circuit. DOH

Aquaticlife didn’t have much input on the subject, but I did find an article from TEK about their T5HO units setting off GFCI’s if the receptacle was too sensitive. They suggested the GFCI have a greater than 1 milliamp sensitivity. My 15amp GFCI receptacle is a Class A 5milliamp (+-1), so it really shouldn’t be having that issue.

I haven’t had a problem with it since (knock on wood). Not really sure what I did to fix it, but we’ll see. Maybe when the bulbs are brand spankin new they have some crazy current draw?? Or maybe you guys were right and there was a poor connection in there somewhere. I’m guessing it was the later.

    Thanks for the help y’all
