As requested the pictures of the Par 30 Lamp.

This is with my 5500K ceiling light and actinics off. You can compare the tank with the sunlight from the window. (Note there is a slight purple hue if you look at the reflection off the wall, and the actinics look like they are on but it is reflecting the sunlight.)

And with the ceiling lights on. Still can see the slight purple hue. Also compare the tank with the window light.

Thank you for the pictures. :) The tank is looking nice so far.

I like your idea with the actinics on an arm. Is your aquascape built over the eggcrate frame?

    For my tank I think I will got with a 4b 1w par30.

No I took out the eggcrate completely when I found the rock. It is just one big rock that has natural shelves. Mixing up some more water right now to do a water change. Looks like some ammonia and 20ppm nitrates.

Looking great!! I'm going to have to break down and get me a couple bulbs soon. still may go with the 4b 1w as I kinda like the bluer color. Then again I'm going to be putting it over a 10g so I may get one of each.;D

What are you using for your little ATO setup? That would make life so much easier with my 10g.

Yeah working on it! Not sure if there is ammonia or not because the color chart is pretty similar between 0 and .25ppm

I think going one of each would be great. So you can get a dusk/dawn effect.

For the ATO system, I'm using a float switch wired into an extension cord. Not ideal but it works. And there is a 2 1/2 quart bucket I got from Home Depot that holds RO/Di water and the pump connected to an airline hose.

Here's the link to the ATO system. So props go to him. I went ahead and bought the same float switch he uses that is rated at a max of 2.5A so I shouldn't have a burn out or anything. He has the link on the site as well.

I figured out why my PH was so low! It was as simple as poor fresh air through the room. I mixed new water outside and PH was perfect. So turned off the AC and opened the windows and doors.

Did a 2 quart water change. Brought up PH to about 8. Haven't checked the other parameters yet though.
