Purchased a bubble coral from lfs over the weekend. I know they've had it for atleast a couple weeks as a I looked at it every time I was in there. Purchased it and added to my tank. Deflated on the ride home and within an hour or so of putting in tank it was opening....not as open at the lfs but still encouraging that it made the transfer ok. last couple days it has been all but fully retracted. maybe a bubble here or there. it has 3 branches and all look the same. All parameters have been stable and my other lps (frogspawn, torch, candy cane, wellsophyllia, acans) all look great. I had it about half way up and to the left of my tank where it was getting lowish flow...or enough that the bubbles when inflated gently swayed. I thought maybe my 150w metal halide was a bit much for it and put it on the sand bed, now in a slightly shaded section of the tank with similar flow, but probably less then its previous spot. 3 days and no change.
do bubbles take awhile to open? i havent seen anything bothering it in regards to shrimp or fish....but it is still a little worrisome...having trouble downloading photos but i will post as soon as i can to hopefully get more insight....any ideas?

My bubble took a few days before it opened. I would leave it alone for a while and see what happens. BTW, mine is in prettyheavly flow and opens just fine.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    As always parameters please?

While every thing you have looks good, the corals have had time to acclimate or adjust to changes in water chemistry specific to your tank. A new addition might need more time to acclimate .

Very sensitive to tank transfers IME. Mine was very slow to acclimate as well. Be patient.

I have recovered a damaged bubble coral before that was extremely damaged in shipment. It had withered down to just the tissue and 6 months later it is bouncing back from nearly nothing.

I have mine on the sandbed in low/moderate flow under LED lighting.

Check at night time to see if the tentacles are extending opening up.

Mine ended up separating from its skeleton. I found it tucked away in a hole in my live rock looking as full and as colorful as ever. Very strange.

    Good luck!
