Got it 4 days ago! Looked perfectly fine and happy for those 4 days! Has not moved since it found it's sweet spot in the tank. I fed it today some mysis shrimp shortly after the lights went out. Just went to turn off the moonlights and go to bed when I noticed it kind of stretched out a little from its crevis and I also noticed the tenticles were barely moving when the flow hit it. I took my turkey baster and plasted a little water on it and it baserly moved! Like it had stiffened itself up... I even touched the tenticles with the turkey baster and got nothing... no retracting or anything. I even firmly pushed one side with the turkey baster, and again, nothing... it just sat there stiff looking. This is my first anemone so, I'm not too sure what is going on and if I should be worried or not. I would figure that if it was upset then it would have moved itself. It kindda seems like it filled itself with as much water as it could. The mouth isn't gasping and the foot is holding super tight to the rock... just this stiffness thing it's doing. EVERYTHING else in my tank is perfectly fine! The tank is 1 1/2 years old! I have high light and sensitive acros in that tank doing extremely well! For the more experienced BTA keepers... why is my anemone stiff looking and not reacting when touched? Is it because the lights are off? It didn't do this any other night.

Nothing to worry about , everything you described is exactly what my nem does. Sometimes it doesn't move or goes hard and never retracts when i touch it ( sticks to my fingers instead)

Try feeding it prawn or mussel instead of mysis shrimp as its not really big enough

Dont worry, my bta is weird to say they least. I am guessing it's because he was eating, mine goes from huge swaying tentacles to a small stone when he eats

Give yourself 2 months!!! It took at least that long to stop being paranoid over my LTA. Just when i think i have him figured out, he does something else i dont expect. As long as he has a strong hold and a closed mouth and good color you're probably ok. Good luck and enjoy the show!!
