So Christmas is around the corner(yes i said it, theres no denying it, summers over :-/:cry:...
But what i was thinking was my little sister absolutely loves my 75g reef tank....No where near as into as i am but she likes watching the fishies::).
So I was thinking about building her a small 32g or so to put some fish in...(clowns, mabey a tang or two..) she has almost no knowlage of this stuff so i will have to do all the major work...im looking for suggestions on filtration, tank size and fish from you guys...key things i want to stick to are
    -quiet...itll be in a bedroom
-simple maintance (because like i said shes never done this before)
-cost effective...i dont need to go broke for christmas :p
i live in the same house as her (im a collage student) so i can moniter the tank for major probs, help it cycle etc...but i dont need another tank to be working on completely....im going to stick with a f.o. tank and build a liverock structure. other than mabey one ananome for clowns. would a canister filter and protein skimmer be ok for this...i dont really want to build a full on sump for a couple clowns and some live rock. also would i be ok with just a single t-5 light ? like i said trying to keep it basic
    thanks guys

^ Tang police! I agree though.

This is a really nice idea. Maybe a 24 gallon nano is the perfect solution? I mean, not too complicated, compact and quiet, and a great way to start her off.

Just for an example, I've got a 29 gallon in my spare room. It has a hang on back aqueon power filter, heater, single T8 light fixture, and a walmart light timer. I literally haven't touched the tank for almost 4 months except for top offs, not a single water change. The tank runs itself. One thing that helps me is I have a decent amount of macro in the display, which may not be appealing to some people. The hob filter is enough water movement that I don't even have a powerhead in the tank. Its as basic as it gets, and it works very well.

NM. Apparently I'm slow this morning! Must be a busy time for the board.
