So I'm thinking about swapping out 2 10k bulbs for something in the 14k range just to cool off the color in my tank a bit. I still have the original bulbs that came with the fixture about 7 months old now. The light came with 4 10k for daylight and this is just a very white light and I was thinking of mixing it up a little.
My question is, when I put these bulbs in should I add both at the same time just bam in one go...or should I do one and wait a few days and do the other. I just want any transition to be smooth for my coral if needed.

i would think both at the same time would be ok. but would say that its not worth the risk:). wont hurt to give it 2-3 days just to be sure

You could change them both at once, but changing one every three days would be safest.

I think you can put them in at the same time. It's not really a change in intensity rather in color so I don't think it will have any negative effects on corals.
But a couple days in between or lowering the photo period just a bit would be on the safer side. Just in case.
How old are the old bulbs. They loose intensity after a while and the brand new bulbs would be more intense than the old ones.

Thanks guys, definitely going to do it over the course of a few days then. Want a smooth as possible transition.

All at once. Reduce photo period/and or raise the lights and slowly acclimate over the course of a couple few weeks. Keep a close eye on SPS.
