It arrived today! My 'Major Award' ;D

It looks very nice! Apparently , there is a minor procedure for 'building' the probe (adding an electrolytic solution) and calibration steps before I can use it. It may take a day or two for me to get this right...but as soon as I have it up and running, I will let everyone know how it works! ;D

Thanks to Jason over at Premium Aquatics for donating such a nice prize!

And Thanks to Matt for having such a nice site! ;D

Yeah a little calibration seems to be the norm with these things. Look forward to your report! You earned this thing, enjoy! 8)

Does anyone have any advice on how to build this probe for the calcium monitor (pinpoint brand)?

I got one, and cannot get to the calibration procedure because I keep getting 'Error'

You have to fill the probe with electrolye solution, then let it sit in Reference solution of 100 ppm CA. for an hour

Then you hook the probe up to the monitor, and try to get a reading in the 100 solution. When it flashes 100, you are to press enter and then repeat with 1000 solution.

When I press enter, I get an error reading. I have rebuilt the friggin thing 3 times now.

    Anyone????

It could just be that I am a moron! 8)

Keep us informed. I was getting ready to order one, but maybe not if they are that hard to get working.

Wow, I just read the instructions ... refilling the probe, replacing the probe every 18-24 months, calibration whenever your reading "looks off" ... does this thing save time or waste it? Be sure to keep us updated, Birdlady!
