Is it normal for a candy cane to look like this after acclimated?

Never seen mine close up like that but the feeder tentacles are out so you might try to target feed it,just take whatever your going to feed it and touch it to the tentacles and it should stick to them and it will take it to its mouth. Watch out for other tank inhabitants or they will steal the food, my cleaner shrimp are the worst so I feed them before target feeding anything.

Mine open like that from time to time....definitely try to target feed them, they will eat if they are open like that!!! I think once they get used to your lighting they will open like that less because they will get food from the zooanthe in their bodies. Nice head....looks like the one in front is already in the process of splitting into two.

I notice that you are being urged to feed. It is my assumption that there must be food in the water column already???????

I feed my candy cane's occasionally some chunk of raw shrimp or silversides... they like the big meaty foods...

But I don't think they require it... Mine get really fat after I feed them so I tend to do it a day or two b4 I have company that I think will be interested in my reef.
