New Clams Being Offered

I don't if you guys have heard, but Pacific Island Imports accidentally breed of clams. They call them Maxeas, they are a cross between croceas and maximas. It supposedly happened when somebody left a few croceas in the maxima tank when they were spawning. The cool thing about this is that some of these clams are super, super colored. They only about 5% of these new clams have these colorations, but I wanted to show what's out there, and hopefully what will be available locally soon. I can't wait until I can get my hands on these new hybrid clams.

Man those are some awesome clams. Now the only question is how much will they be selling for.

I think they were going for about $250, but some retailers are jacking the price up. There are very few available now, only about 12 last time I looked. They need to wait until the next spawning cycle.

 

I told myself I don't need another clam.....but if I saw those for sale I would make an exception. I LOVE the first one!

 

I should correct myself, there were only about 12 of the super colored clams, there were many more hybrids available.

 

250 eh? even with the steep price , i would "shell" out for it.

 

They look awesome, I would probably too if I could get one, but they are selling very quickly and pacific island importers only sells to bulk buyers. You can't pick which one you want, you just buy a box of clams and hope one is included.
