My new O. Clown that I picked up yesterday isn't eating yet. Brine shrimp or bloodworms will practically hit him in the head and it does nothing to try to eat it. My royal gramma is eating really well though. Is this normal for clowns?

Well most new fish will not eat until they feel comfortable. My clowns ate as soon as they where released into my tank. IMO feed them flake food thats probably what they are use to and nothing in my tank has ever eaten blood worms thats more for fresh water fish although I'm not saying that some species of saltwater fish wouldn't eat them.

Clownfish are considered simple to keep almost like a gold fish, if it isn't eating give it time to adjust to the new tank. After a week if it still isn't eating you should then be concerned.

Offer it frozen food they simply cannot resist mysis and hikari frozen products. Or you could try a quality flake food such as formula one or formula two they generally have garlic in the ingredients which helps attract fish to eating ( people "claim").

The majority of this hobby is hear say and "IMO" basically it involves trial and error and getting things to do what they should with in reason of course.

    Very normal.

Give the clownfish a couple of days and if he is not eating in 4-5 days, attempt to feed him what the LFS was feeding. You may want to try some cyclopes, clowns also respond well to garlic.

Thanks--I know my other clown several years ago when I had a 75g ate brine shrimp, but the store I picked the clown up from suggest brine and bloodworms. I'll keep my eye on him the next few days and give an update.

Update--today, for the first time the clown was aggressively swimming after and eating food. I added a long-nosed butterfly today and it seemed like the clown "came to life" when it noticed the butterfly. The clown started swimming more around the tank, and finally ate normally! WHEW! Now I have to get the butterfly to eat!
