Picked him up and acclimatised him last night. Seems to be settling in nicely (touch wood); The yellow has left him alone so far...

First time with a clown tang, any advice or are they much the same as any other tang ?

Pictures as soon as the lights come on. :)

Thanks for the advice guys... I hope he doesn't grow 'monstrous' as that'd involve a new tank or a new home but we shall see :)

Lights don't come on until later in the day so pics will have to wait :)

well apart from me 'misplacing' my phone. I never lose things you see.. :p

A sadish update, he seemed to settle in well at first eating a variety of flake and frozen mysis. The yellow seemed to leave him alone, flaring up a little bit. However no chasing of fin nipping that i could see.

Now comes the bad news, he seems to have caught white spot and is hiding in a section of rock and refuses to come out to eat. I fear i shall lose him... Param's are normal so i'm at a loss :( any ideas ?

My purple tang came down with whitespot, I didnt have a QT tank at the time. I fed Nori soaked with garlic, turned on the uv during the day,off at night, and gave him Ick Attack. during then night time. I increased the temp to 81 degrees. and its been 3 months since hes had a single speck. Im fully aware its still in my tank :) Im hoping my cleaner shrimp and neon gobies help with it. (Didnt have the cleaners when my tang got ich)

    Best of wishes though :)!

Feed him garlic and selcon enriched nori and food. He should recover quickly.

Clown tangs can and do get very big. I saw one in Fiji that was at least a foot long.

Typically they have poor survival rates in home reefs due to them not eating always. If yours eats, then there is hope for him.
