So i picked up a clownfish about 3-4 days ago. They are so much better looking in person, however I havent seen him eat yet. I have tried pellets, flake, and even frozen brine. Any advice? He is really active though, so I know hes not in any immediate danger (besides the fact he only swims on the backand right side of the tank for some reason lol)

I haven't had a clown fish but I would try mysis shrimp. Also IMO I would lose the pellets and flakes, in the wild there isn't someone feeding them that, try and keep it as real as possible. But try the frozen mysis see what happens. I use a small amount of tank water in a shot glass (clean of corse) let it thaw and dump em in.

If you can attempt to see what it was eating prior to when you got it, what the LFS was feeding it. Feed that if possible with whatever fish food you have and it should make the transition. It is not unusual for clowns when new to not eat for several days so as long as it is not being bullied or seems sick it should come around.

yea im going to ask the LFS what they fed them. I was thinking about picking another up? If i have only a sixline wrasse, chromis and assorted corals, the pair of clowns wont get too aggressive will they? its an ocellaris clown.

Actually at this point I would worry more about the six line getting aggressive. Since the clowns are very young they are probably ok for now but as they get older they may get aggressive. At least they are ocellaris which should help, but all clownfish have the potential to get aggressive.

ive seen no aggression from either of them so far. the clown is actually bigger than the six line. Would you suggest getting a smaller clown for the pair?

Yes, try to get a smaller clown just make sure it is eating and looks very healthy, as you already know they sometimes go through an acclimation period when they do not eat or eat very little. It sounds as though your goal is to have a pair so getting another in the near future before the other becomes too territorial is a good idea. Looking forward to pictures of your new pair.;D

With the two clowns, a chromis, and the sixline, I think you are going to see some aggression issues, especially in a 20 gal. I have a pair of ocellaris and a firefish in my 29 gal and I see aggression b/w the clowns and the firefish. Nothing major, just the clowns keeping the pecking order established. Since you already have the chromis, you might be ok. My personal opinion is I wouldn't put that many fish in a 20gal let alone with a pair of clowns but then again I prefer to keep the amount of fish on the low side as to always try and avoid any aggression. Just my 2cents.
