ok sick of fighting carrying my springfield xd 9, and my smith and wesson .40 MP all the time. Especially since i'm skinny and summer coming so i was thinking of getting this tomorrow as a lightweight small alternative. Granted not the stopping power, but it weighs less than a pound, and i can't find something better for stopping power that is comparable size!
    Product: Model 637

    TIA

Check out these guys: Diamondback Firearms

I haven't shot the 9 yet, but the 380 is a pretty sweet little gun. Similar to a ruger lcp, but in my opinion a better gun. I know several people that own them and are very happy with them. In fact my friend had a ruger and after shooting the diamondback, he trader the ruger in for one of these.

i'm hearing good things about them, but for 1 less round i may still go with the SW just because i'm conformable with them and its the same price. plus i don't have a revolver.

    thanks though

Have you considered an M&P 40 compact? Pretty small for an auto and your magazines from your full size M&P fit giving you options. I carry an M&P at work and a compact as a secondary. The compact is my off duty carry gun. The compact shoots very nice, not much difference in handling of either gun. The compact is about $100.00 more then the J frame though, less if you can catch it on sale someplace.

I think the 637 will piss you off as a carry gun with its exposed hammer. If you are set on a small revolver I would go with something like a 340. About the same size as the 637 but chambered in .357 and has a bobbed hammer.

Bottom line I guess comes down to how you carry it. I would give some thought to combat viability though.

What about the semi autos exactly are you fighting with? When your concealing, the main concern is how slim the gun is, and a revolver sure as hell isn't going to be any slimmer. What kind of holster are you using? I would try out some different holsters before ditching a whole gun. Just my two cents. And I personally don't like revolvers for a primary, too easy to defeat in close quarters if your foe knows what they're doing.

...Even the compact M&P's are still pigs when it comes to summer carry.

I concur. Go with a "hammerless" wheel gun.
There are a bunch of companies that make great pocket holsters.

However, the new S&W bodyguard .380 semi is unbelievably small and lightweight. You'll prob need top quality HP or even +P ammo to make sure that small .380 cycles reliably.

Thanks for the replies. I'm still gonna carry my S&W 40 most the time. I just need something for tshirt and shorts carry. And being 6'6" 190#'s even a small gun can be hard to hide.

Not ditching any of the guns, I just wanna wear what I wanna wear in the summer and have a small light gun that fits that. I'll still carry my .40 90% of the time, just like to have an option on tshirt summer shorts days. And I have about 6 diff holsters for different placements, so its not that. But these little short guys def conceal easier than any semi auto i've found. Thx

yep see above, gonna go look for one, thx

Damn FB, hadn't seen that yet, that may win over the revolvers, although i just kinda want a revolver just because I don't have one, but that thing looks great, small and light. Thx
