i brought a new coral a week ago, and tonight saw the rock split (so i thought) i thought it was breaking but it opened up and now i can see an oyster thing he seems ok apart from being covered in mushrooms,

    question one what is he

question 2 is how can i get the mushrooms off without damage to them or him?

hi. i personally would take a very sharp blade and try cutting below the mushroom "foot". i am only suggesting this way as i had a single puple mushroom growing right next to my anemone, so i actually used a paper blade and cut some of the live rock from out below the mushroom.. i shouldn"t worry too much about harming the mushroom either as i googled the aqua culture of mushrooms earlier in the week and they seem pretty hardy little things!!!!!!try it!!
