I've been researching and reading posts, looking at pictures and trying to decide which corals would work in my 25G.

I made my list and talked to the one guy at my LFS that I trust and three weeks ago when I was in there buying water he had some $5 frags. I picked out a frogspawn frag and a green star polyp but I didn't want to get them until I got my new rockwork in place and the quarantine finished cycling.

They've been in the quarantine for almost a week now but I needed to get them out so I acclimated the frogspawn yesterday morning and then acclimated the GSP yesterday afternoon. I needed to quarantine some new snails so it was time to move them.

Anyway, the GSP has attached in a good spot on a base rock that I hope it will cover. Its starting to open now! Pics will be added in the morning after it fully opens.

The Frogspawn is secured with some marine epoxy into a piece of base rock that my husband helped me drill a 1/2" hole in with the drill. It's starting to open again and I'll post a picture of it in its new home as soon as it opens back up the way it was in q/t. It took two days to fully open after I brought it home.

Also, If I'm over my head, please tell me. I would rather take them back for 50% credit than kill them slowly...

BTW--I have a 24 Inch Coralife Aqualight Lunar Lighting Fixture

    Mg is at 1280
    Cal is 440
    dKH is 9
    Ammonia is 0
    Nitrite is 0
    Nitrate is 5
PH is 8.3 at lights out.

I cannot tell a lie! LFS gets their fish shipments on Tuesdays and Scott called and said, "I just got in a Court Jester, you want it?" So off I went! He's cute too!!! He hid most of the night last night but today he was chasing pods all around the q/t. So fast I couldn't get a pic with my Kodak Z712 IS. I'm uploading pics of my corals now though!

This is the hole we drilled in the rock, hubby got it started and I finished!

This is the frag in the bucket after I took it out of the q/t! I made sure to shock it into full retraction before taking it out too :)

This is the glue in the hole, my hubby laughed at me for taking this picture!

This is the frag, waiting patiently for the glue to set:

This is the frag in the tank! Hopefully at lights on tomorrow (feeding time) he shows his true colors and lets me get a good pic!

    Now for the "other corals"!

This is a picture of my xenia today! We almost lost it on the 11th, we had some spare voltage in the tank that took out my emerald crab. Added a ground probe and everything is happier now, especially the xenia. It even has a new baby sprouting on the bottom. This pic was taken under the lunar light only.

This is the GSP all closed up for the trip across the living room. It has popped out 2 or 3 polyps at a time since the move, but I expect it to come out fully tomorrow.

    :LolLolLol:loco:

My DH said the same thing, only he was serious! Trust me, under the cheapo lighting that WAS on the q/t (it got new lights today) it came out nice and big and glowed bright neon green! I can't wait for it to open again! I'm only turning on the actinics in the morning to acclimate it to better lighting, hopefully by lunch time I can get a picture of the "green" part!

my GSP is purple also when closed. All great corals and IMO easy to keep. I once had a frogspawn, feed it mysis every now and then and it really grew

BTW..it seems that keeping my nitrates at around 5, my xenia's grow out of control! I put ruble rock around them to spread and mt LFS buys them from me!
