New CPR SR3 help

I just swung by the LFS to doublecheck my water tests and was talked into purchasing a few things. I think my tank(29g biocube) is almost done cycling, so as I was told by the LFS guys I put in a CPR SR3 protein skimmer. I'm pretty sure I set it up right but now the water is full of tiny air bubbles.

Has anyone seen this before? Is this the "break in" period for the skimmer? Did I make a mistake when setting it up?

 

You are fine, the skimmer is just breaking in. Give it about a week at the most.

I found a video CPR_SR3_skimmer.mpg of someone installing the same skimmer step by step. I had mine turned the other way so I re-installed it, not sure which way is correct. Somehow having the water come into the skimmer as other water is coming out doesn't make sense, but hey I'm a noob to this.

 

Hello everyone... My first post here! I have the same confusion! Does the skimmer go like you have it in the picture or the opposite way like in the video? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
