Do you reefers know what the easiest and safest way to clean and remove salt creep from lighting fixtures...?
VINEGAR(acetic acid)! Not only is it beneficial for increasing co2 in your tank and increasing the calcium amount of kalkwasser by 9%. It works wonders for the removal and cleaning of your glass tops as well as lenses and uv protective glass! You don't have to worry about toxic chemicals possibly being absorbed by your water from the air or spray getting accidentally spilled or landing in your water column possibly posing detrimental effects! If vinegar gets into your water it really doesn't effect anything so for that piece of mind and the ease of having a sparkling clean tank top and lighting, therefore increasing the PAR and lux to your corals below makes this a wonderful advancement IMO!8)

Very cool. I use vinegar to clean my equipment but never running equipment.
I will have to give it a try.

It should work on metal reflectors also. It also helps me with some of the rust!!!!
Urban s, if you wer to take the skimmer and empty it out and pour some vinegar in the tube and stir and shake it and maybe use a soft scrubbing brush(like people use to clean babies bottles) it should clean it out nicely!!
