Went out and bought a dwarf lion fish a couple days ago.

I haven't seen him eat yet though. i tried dropping frozen krill in front of him. Nothing. I took tweasers and he seemed to like the tweasers more interesting than the food... which was quite close to my hand...

Later i tied some frozen krill up to a string and went almost fishing for him to bite... but he was more interested in the string...

he's not that big and least doesn't have any interest in the other fish in the tank... i have 2 clowns and a fire fish

any advice?? i'm prolly gonna go out and get some clear fishing line after work or during my lunch break

Biggest question off the top of my head is did you see it eat at the LFS or if bought offline have you called them & asked what it was being fed there?

Have you tried live foods? Ghost shrimp or dare I even say a feeder fish or guppy? Sometimes they have to be weened?

I bought it from the LFS and they said the frozen krill is what he has been eating and is what they give them. Havent tried any live food yet.

Avoid krill altogether if you can. It has been linked (but not proven) to cause issues such as lockjaw. There are some other hypothesis out there about it, but no one really knows, as the study wasn't completed due to lack of afflicted lions "turned in". There's so many other choices, why mess with it.

Try some of the techniques in this link ...Converting a Lionfish. The dead ghostshrimp on the Stealth Stick works like 99% of the time. If you go that route, the 50lb line is important, as it has the right about of firmness you'll need.

That is a sweet juvie you have there. Most fuzzies wean pretty easily, but it's never a guarantee. I have a young one right now who still hasn't caught on. But they will.... they will.....

The tankmates will be eaten when the lion gets large enough.

went out today and got a ghost shrimp since I haven't seen him eat.

It was gone in a minute.

I'm still gonna work on the frozen method though.
