New find in old tank!

    As I was feeding the tank tonight, I came across this little guy (what I believe to be an urchin of some sort). I am unsure as to exactly what kind of urchin it is, so your input is much appreciated.

    It is about 1/4-1/2 inch in diameter. I have not added any new live rock in quite some time, so I believe the urchin must have been a hitchhiker (an extremely small hitchhiker at that).

    I agree that it is an urchin. No idea on the species.

    That is what I was thinking. Are these the urchins that bore into rock or do they eat algae? Will they compete with my blue tuxedo urchin?

    What a cute little guy! That must have been fun to find some new life in there. I dunno what he is, but I like him!

    Looks like a black urchin to me. But not alot in the pic. And he is still pretty small from the sound of it. So he may change a little. And now that I compare him to a black urchin his spikes are not as thin, but they have a sharp tip like a black not a flat tip like a pencil.
