So last thursday, I ordered some fish from hawaii. One blue jaw triggerfish and one naso tang to fill up my 125 which has only few chromis, damsels, and firefish in it.

The blue jaw was a little shy the first day, but he was probably the most active eater in the tank on the second day. He evens go to the srynge and puts his mouth at the tip when I use a srynge.

The naso on the other hand is refusing everything I put in there. I've tried mysis, freeze dired plankton/krill/brine, nor, arti-pods, formula one flakes, spirulina flakes. I've tried soaking the food in garlic and angelixir that I have to feed my butterflies when I had them. So I'm getting a bit worried and need some help and advises.

Have you tried nori or seaweed yet? If so, did he eat that?

yea i tried that. At first, I stuck it at the clip at he didn't go. Then wedge in between rocks and no luck. I've even soaked in in garlic, but still no go.

Hey! I just noticed you're in Redmond! Awesome!! Nice to have another local on here. :)

Well, just keep trying and hope the naso will eat soon. I can't really think of any other tips, you've tried a lot.

Didn't notice you're in Seattle as well, :)

I'll just keep trying and hopefully he eats something. I'll try and put some maco algae from my fuge so maybe he might graze on it. Might not be enough, but something is better than nothing

Hopefully he just needs a few days to adjust to his new home and will start eating. Some fish take longer than others.

Are nasos grazers? I know with grazing fish sometimes you can take a gel food and smear it onto the rocks and hope they graze it off. I know that's a common tactic with angels that won't eat. Good luck!!

He grazes algae on the rocks sometimes. I use to do something like that when I had an Idol, but he died during an ich outbreak in one of my tanks. I got him to eat by mixing mysis, formula one and two, pods, nori, pellets, planktons, and some angelixir food soak (by brightwell) using a mortar and pastel. Then I took a dead brain coral skeleton I found and press the paste into the little openings. Freeze the brain and put the thing into the tank after 24hrs. I got the moorish eating that way :)
