New fish...a little problem

Just buy more caulerpa online for the tang. Their diet is mostly algae so as long as it feeds on something keep feeding it that until it wants something else.

 

must be really frustrating for you, could mixing the caulerpa and a sheet algae together in a bunch work? I know there are also different types of sheet algae, green, brown etc. I've never kept a tang but just tossing stuff up there. good luck, I hope he learns.

 

I did cut up red and green algae sheets to make them look like caulerpa. I rubberband them together with a bunch of caulrpa on a piece of rock and he ate all the caulerpa, bet spat out the algae sheet when he tastes it.

 

Well, it may sound strange but try some lettuce or broccoli. Clip it onto a rock or shell and see if the Naso will eat that. I have seen Angelfish and Tangs eat both of these vegetables. It also keeps some color in them if you wanted an added bonus.

Man, I love Naso tangs, hope you can feed it!

i pretty much mix, formula 1 flakes, formula 2 pellets, mysis shrimp, emerald cubes with krill, brine and algae.. then i take nori, and brake it to pieces and mix them in, then i put a few drops of garlic guard..
