Congrats on seeing the fish. Mine will not hide when the lights are on, but when the lights are off and only ambient light is around it will hide just like yours. Give it time it will come out more and more.

I know...the good thing is they are all small fish except the tang and he is medium. I have 3 salt tanks going so I have plenty of room to move them if there is a problem.

On another note, I caught a picture of 4 of my Firefish in the same photo. The other one was out but closer to the other side of the tank. Thought I'd share it with you. The second picture is my Firefish and Tang together. You can see the Valentine Puffer in the rocks swimming through.

Very cool pictures. Thank you for sharing.

Is there a difference from your firefish and a purple firefish?

As well, everything i have read says firefish will fight if put in the same tank, this true?

Thanks. I found it's cave. It's appearing more and more. Hasn't been out enough yet to get a good picture.

I had the purple ones two. I added 3 and someone was always getting bullied, so I added 2 more with better results. I have found 5 of them seem to work the best for my tank. My tank wasn't stable back then and it crashed a few months later. I was new to the hobby and didn't have a clue what I was doing. My purple ones got along great, no problems at all. When I had 3 they fought....5 and they got along perfect. I do believe the pink and white and the purple are pretty much the same and confidence comes in numbers with these fish. I can walk up to the tank and put my hand on it close to them with no reaction at all. They don't even seem to notice or seem stressed by the other fish swimming around.

There are three different species available to us but they all have about the same peaceful attitudes. It appears tank size controls the number before peace ensues. The orange firefish are supposed to be the most likely to "school".

CODEE111 what size tank do you have?

Last night I pretty much stared right at the fish for a good five minutes. I didnt move. When I did though, it noticed my movement and took off hiding.
