My purple fire fish still continues to be very shy. One time only, it came to the front of the tank. Swam to the opposite side. I tried to get a picture, in doing so, I scared it and it went back to hiding.

The only time it comes out is during feeding. It doesn't go more the a few inches from it's hiding spot (which is a hole under the live rock). Eats the food that makes it's way there. Then hides again.

Is this typically for this fish? Should I be concerned? I don't believe that my clowns or blenny are bothering it. I just think it's a very shy fish.

I wouldnt be concerned. Like I mentioned mine has become much more reclusive since the other one moved out so to speak. I think they are just happier in multiples. I'm gonna have to read & see if its ok to add another one or if there will be issues cause I feel kinda bad seeing it act like that now.

It was more of an update then a concern. The fish eats every time i feed, so I know its healthy. I have no evidence of the other inhabitants picking on it. Like I said, just think it's shy.

Well my firefish has disappeared again. It's been about one month since I've seen it. Such a cool fish and I can't enjoy it's presence.

I'm now starting to be concerned. Don't even see it during feeding.

I have check the floor and behind the tank. I have an overflow, but I don't believe its in there. I have a very good clean up crew from reef cleaners. I knew where its hid out was. Ive even tried to place some pellets right in front the last few days, and no sign of the little guy.

Thanks. I don't want to move any rocks. That will be the last resort if I don't see it in a few days.
