I got a yellow watchmen goby today. The lights have been off for 2 hrs now and he is swimming back n forth my tank about 3" from the surface. I tok my water to the LFS that I got him at and they said water was perfect. My temp is 82 though. Any help

Any way you can bring your temp down? Higher temps=less O2 saturation.

This may not be causing it though; they can be quite active at night sometimes.

    How did you acclimate it?

He was floating in a bag for 5 min when I was testing my calcium levels and cleaning my skimmer. I looked up he was swimming because the bag hit my light, melted and he fell out. So like 5 min tops. He is now on the sand bed and swimming around the tank looking for a home it seems.

I'm looking to get some frozen food. What should I get. I have 2 clowns, one yellow tang and now the goby.

Just give the goby time, sounds like stress and needing to get use to its environment. Always acclimate without your lights to limit stress.

Didn't know that, thanks. I raised my lights 4" from the top of my tank, in hopes to reduce heat, buying a small fan to cool light system this weekend!

It is probably from the lack of acclimation. Give your goby some time and he will probably be fine.

My buddy goby hid for two weeks.. Let him calm down, he is stressed.. Especially just getting dropped into a system without it being fully acclimated.
