Awesome, nothing better than a goby shrimp pair! Unless you can get a goby goby shrimp pair...

How yellow is your goby? If it is bright yellow then it is a male, if it has a slight green tinge bars on its sides then it is a female.

I didn't know that! I must have a male then - but I already figured that since he just lays around waiting for the shrimp to do all the work and gets free food......;D

I hope they pair up. Mine paired up the first night, but there's no guarantees on that. My previous goby jumped and the poor pistol shrimp had been all alone until I got the yellow watchman.

Funny...I had the opposite...my shrimp decided to go over the overflow, through all of the plumbing and lodge himself in the skimmer...the very first night that I bought the pair. My poor goby hung out with the other goby for a couple of nights until I could get another shrimp. And yes, there is a chance that they won't pair.........mine found each other within 10 minutes. I think the goby was really, really lonely. It was kind of sad actually.
