Do to an increasing number of aiptasia that I've had I battle with aiptasiaX I finally decided to risk it and attempt a copperband butterfly. He was at the store about 2 weeks and ate mysis with no problem so hopefully feeding won't be an issue. He is 2-3inches too so not too large or too small so hopefully it'll be easier to adjust I captivity and not too delicate.

Took 2 hours to acclimate since the LFS had a sg of 1.021 and mine was a little high at 1.027 but I finally let him go into the DT and so far everyone else is interested but no signs of aggression. He is the largest guy in the tank besides a melanarus wrasse so hopefully he will be boss since I know aggressive behaviors is a downfall of these guys. Ill be feeding RODs and mysis along with reef chili so we will see how it goes!!

Thanks! The new guy seems to have settled in well. Kind of keeps to himself and the others ignore the fact that there is even a new guy which is what I was hoping for. Seems very inquisitive and is always swimming around looking at the rockwork and sand picking every now and then. I attempted to feed this morning after lights came on and he hid in the corner so we will see how it goes.

That will be my next fish. Almost scored a 4 to 5 inch one at my lfs last weekend for 30 bucks but they wrote sold on it right when I told them I wanted it.

Well penny the copperband doesn't eat very much but the first two days I've had her she seems to pick a couple pieces of PE Mysis so it's something. I'm oping she pigs out but at least she's eating a little the first couple days plus I see her picking rock work and sand constantly.

As a bonus the other fish are very happy with the extra food!! Lol

I'm sure Penny will come around. You are so responsible with your tank.

Thanks Im hoping. She seems to be very inquisitive of everything and looks at every piece of food in the tank but only choosing to eat the ones that look perfect I guess. At least when she eats she doesnt spit it back on she continues to look for the next perfect morsel.
