New fish

Yesterday I added a saddleback clownfish to my tank. My half-black mimic tang took exception to this and harrassed the clown for most of the day. I guess the clown finally got fed up because when I woke up this morning, the tang has a large chunk of flesh (about the size of the clowns mouth) missing from his side. Is there anything I can do for him? I don't want to catch him and they do appear to be getting along now that the dust has settled. I can't buy the garlic stuff local but could I maybe make my own?

 

He should be fine on his own. Just keep an eye on the wound and make sure it doesn't get infected.

 

You can make your own garlic prep very easily. No problem. Jason is right, all should be just fine. Keep your parameters in check to make things easier on the fishy. Clowns are nothing to mess with. He found out the hard way......

 

dont let that clown bite you. it hurts like a mug. my 1.5 inch clowns kinda sting when they bite.

 

Ain't that the truth. As soon as it starts hosting (mine hosts a turbinaria) it will guard it with vigor. I have a mated pair of f. percs that are handfed and the female forgets that my finger is not part of the meal at times. Sharp little teeth!!!
