Ok so my lfs made a deal with me and I got a new oriental sweetlips and a bluestar leopard wrasse to replace the ones that died recently.I accidentally left my brightwell aquatics carbon in to long and it dropped all my levels really bad.I caught it but I think I suffered some losses due to this.I only have pics that I could find online so far as the lights went out already.I can see a difference in how these ones are acting and how the first ones were so I've got my fingers crossed. Thanks Gregg and Hope for the hook-up!!

Congrats on the new additions. Surprised about the carbon causing a problem though.

it said 48 hours max.I had it 56 hours past that and it dropped my magnesium from1350 to 1220 ph to 7.8 calcium from 440 to 360 kh from 11 to 7. I've never had this happen before in this big tank and this was the first time I've used this carbon.

good to know. nice fishes, Ive had probly 2-3 oriental sweetlips since 1998... nice fish, but study up on them for proper care.. I think the longest I kept one alive was 8-12months.. just FYI, but I was notorious for overstocking fish in my tanks back then toooooo.

Wow!!!, I think you convinced me not to use that carbon because I prefer to leave mine in all the time. Sorry to hear about your losses BTW.

just got out my led flashlight and found he was being attacked by ick.I gave him a fresh water dip seems like he might be responding better.Looks like he is able to breath a little better.
