Just got my first mated pair of clowns a couple hours ago. Just thought I would share... Haha, I'm very excited! They seem to have acclimated well with the tank and didn't bother the firefish.

Any tips for keeping them fat and happy? LFS said they Eat anything he puts in the tank... As far as I can tell he was right, they devoured the mysis I put in 15 minutes after they were in the tank :)

Also, how long do they usually take to host something? They seem really interested in my hydor powerhead haha.

They seem to love the tank... And boy do they swim fast! My firefish wasn't nearly as active as these guys.

Maybe a dumb question, but what is "normal" behavior for clowns? Mine are constantly moving around the tank nonstop... Is this them being stressed or just exploring. The firefish isn't bothering them, he just hangs out in his corner area. Haha, I may be being paranoid... I just got used to the firefish's lazy swimming around the tank.

I wouldn't look too much into what "normal" behaviors are for clowns. They have a huge number of weird things they do, as nearly anyone here can tell you.

I would just watch out for a few specific abnormal behaviors, like staying near the surface, breathing very heavily, gulping air, swimming crooked, etc.

I just got 2 clowns about a week ago... at first they were swimming all over the place... I think they are just a little stressed and exploring the new evniornment... but now they have selected there area in the tank and always return to it to just hang out... they have also calmed down alot and now are passive swimmers just scouting around every now and then...
