    Hi everyone,

Last Saturday we purchased a new flame angel fo our 130 ltr reef tank. He was very little and the shop only got him in the day before but he was eating when we decided to take him home. During the week he was doing great then today after I did a 40ltr water change as Nitrate was at 20, he has gone downhill. He is in a tank with 2 clowns, 1 manderine, 1 puffer, 1 lawnmower gobby, and a tang - also have a sea cucumber and apple and starfish. All perameters are food, sal 1.024, PH 8.1, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 10, phosphate less that .5, KH and calcium all good.

Tonight he was lying on the sand so I have put him in a large net under the flow bar with some live brine in the net.

he si really small and weak. ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE????

is it 135 litre - as in 35 gallons?
with the fish you list above if it is a 35 gallon tank I think Oxygen level could be a problem here
2 clowns, 1 manderine, 1 puffer, 1 lawnmower gobby, and a tang - plus the new angel

in addition - the sea apple could be a disaster waiting to happen IMO
if they die they can take everything in the tank with them due to the toxins released

I expect you dont have an oxygen test kit ( I know I dont) but I would have that tested
as possibly you where over the stocking capacity before you added the Angel

having him under the flow bar is a smart move - as that should be the best oxygenated water in your tank
if it where mine I would want to get more air in there so I would rig up an air pump air stone combination or agitate the water surface a bit more with a power head

I would get your water tested for dissolved oxygen though and probably remove the tang
    if it where my tank

    Steve

Agreed with steve, remove tang and increase flow.

Thanks. Why would you remove the Tang?

I know about the apple! My son loves him....I keep a very close eye on him and if we go away the plan is to put him in th QT tank just in case....

he was suggesting that because a 130ltr\35 gal tank is too small for tangs. and what type tang is it?

I think steve is right. Just move a power head somewhere to agitate the water more and if you have a lid on your tank open the lid or even remove it to see if this makes a difference. What kind of water, salt and conditioner are you using?
