My fiancé surprised me with a coral today, a green goniopora. I've heard horror stories about this coral and hope I can keep it alive. She also bought a food for it called Goniopower so I'll give it a try. Acclimated it and was extended out nice within 10 minutes. Wish me luck

Beautiful coral. Great gift. Who said flowers were only for girls.
I personally did not have good luck with them. Mainly because at the time I had a lemon peel damsel and it covered everything on sand every day and night till I was finally able to catch him. Unfortunately the damage was done and the flowers didn't make it.
    Good luck. Nice add.

Ive had one for over a year now, I dont directly feed it ever so it must just snag stuff from the water column when I feed the other stuff.

Looks great, and good luck with it.

Very nice add! I do have one question, though: Are you sure those aren't Green Star Polyps?

It's a gonipora but I did notice its tentacles are long and stringy, hope that's "normal" or ok

Well I had to move corals and do a little rearranging. I left for a chili dinner and came back and this thing opened up huge! It's a little bigger than a softball with tons of tiny little polyps around the bottom. It was touching my hammer frag and Xenia.

Target fed it today with the Goniopower, wow did it open up afterwards. So much my clown noticed and it and started playing in it, now it's opening up then closing as soon as the clown touches it...freaking figures. Debating whether to trade the flowerpot in for some store credit, I don't want the clownfish to kill it

I had a beauty too, but my clowns "made friends" and that was the start of the end of it.
    They are fabulous though.
