IIRC Venus also spins backwards. Isn't Uranus just situated with a ~97° axial tilt? I suppose that since it has swung more than 90° that it is now technically spinning in the opposite direction. Someone looking directly down on the (axial/original)north pole would observe the same rotation as the other planets, correct?

Not sure if the filter on your new tank is the same as the old one but you may be able to grab a filter pad from the reef and put it in the new guy. Should come intact with all the goodies, and perhaps snatch a couple pieces of LR too... This way you KNOW the rock is actually cycled. Probably won't help very much but you at least start with some good bacteria and don't have to wait for them to form.

    Right to left, counterclockwise.

I mean, right, left, clockwise, counterclockwise; they're all relative terms.

Even more importantly, which direction you're facing.

I mean, the Earth can rotate forward, left, backward and right, all within about a half second.
