    Ive had mine for about 4 mo and he still turns a nice shade of black and runs for the hills if you come up on the tank to quick unless there is food he knows when the pumps go off food is on the way give him time he'll come around they are my fav fish

    He's already coming around. He's been out more than hiding today, although he's hiding right now. Apparently he's already developed some favorite grazing areas, but when he sees the tang he still quickly escapes to the caves most of the time. So, are you guys saying that they can they change color at will???

    Yep, generally they change to a dark brown/greyish color when the lights go out at night, or if they're stressed. Generally with the lights on and they're feeling good, they're a nice yellow color. At least that's how it is with mine.

    Yeah, It's bizarre. Mine swam around completely white for a little while yesterday. Then back to the normal yellow. It's cool when he camos himself against the rocks with a black and white camo pattern.

    I have the fiji, so its naturally dark on most of it's body. It's getting more brave. He's nice and fat and very healthy.
