    Good to know; I have one in my sandbed. It does get some sand on it every know and then thanks to my sand-sifting goby, but hasn't seemed to bother it to date. I do know that it came to me a little bleached (mostly brown) and has since colored up nicely, which I attribute to the likely lower intensity lighting.

    from the pic, it looks like it has tissue covering it. so i would say chalice also
