I got a new frogspawn last night and was wondering if I needed to acclimate it to my lights. It was very high up at fire store under t5s and I put it in my tank about 3/4s way up under t5s as well. Should I shorten my photo period or will it be okay being under similar lights?

It should be ok but I would put it lower in the tank and then raise it up every couple days till you get it to where you want it.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
In my experience you can tell with this particular coral by polyps extension. If they open up completely and are not reaching all is well, if they do not open up fully or are tight they probably need some acclimation. Or they open up fully and after a couple hours begin to close back up you probably need some light acclimation

I would image it should be fine but fixtures and age of bulbs is a significant variable that makes it difficult to speculate or guess lighting acclimation time.

    Better safe to acclimate.

I don't really have room to put him low then move him up, I made a lid type thing to put screen in, would that work? Add a couple screens then remove them periodically

    Yup that will work.

    Congrats on the new coral.

Got a pagoda coral as well, I have it placed about 6 inches from my toadstool that looked great... Until today. It extended its polyps then closed up. Could the new pagoda coral be the culprit of the toadstool closing? Parameters are fine

Sounds like you need to acclimate to lighting.

With that said, corals do close and open routinely, it does not mean there is a problem unless they are chronic in closing.

I'm light acclimating but I've had the toadstool for couple of months now and it extended its polyps everyday so far until today. Didn't know if the new pagoda could cause it to close up or just a coincendence that it closed up next day after new corals

With most LPS in my experience you need to look for sweeper tentacles at night.

While I have never had a Pagoda cup show a lot of sweeper tentacles, it might be a consideration.

The toadstool came out of it and is extended it's polyps again. I don't know what had it annoyed this morning but everything appears ok now!
