Hello, I recently got into the SW hobby with the purchase of a JBJ 28 Nanocube. I got the kit with the CF Quad hood for a good price with the intentions of upgrading to LED. I have found out I am going to have to get a chiller, hopefully order something today.

A chiller? Is that a Metal Halide light?

Go with a $125 dollar LED setup and buy no more bulbs for at least 10years, and no chiller.

    Welcome to 3 Reef.

I think I need a chiller, my tank has been staying right at 80/81 with only one of the pumps running and no other circulation pumps and the light off CF Quad. I had both pumps running and it brought it up about another degree. I keep my house at 78, I think the chiller will be cheaper then cooling my whole house down a couple of degrees. I did go through all of the JBJ cube pages a lot of good info there. I did just install the upgrade filter basket yesterday, what a much better option.
